Class plan and methodology
for specific purposes

Spanish class methodology

During classes, all language skills are practiced (listening and reading comprehension, and speaking and writing). In addition to grammar content, we also teach cultural and historical aspects of Spanish culture to achieve better language immersion in our country. Besides classes, activities outside the classroom are held so students can put their knowledge to the test in real situations.

Student assessment is carried out on a continuous basis through different activities and tests. In addition, the teacher provides personal, private follow-up through our platform.

Spanish course study plan

In line with the objectives set by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and with the aim of achieving Spanish language learning, our study plan is based on creating a communicative and immersive dynamic, adapting to our students’ needs.

We use both printed teaching materials and other digital resources.

The use of our platform and the interactive screens found in all our classrooms allow us to embrace new technologies in order to innovate in education, with a highly enriching and positive impact on students.

Excursions and extracurricular activities

Since we believe that learning a language isn’t just about studying grammar, at Academia Puerta Real we encourage language learning and cultural immersion through special activities that usually take place outside the classroom.

– Free activities:

  • City discovery challenges to explore the city and put your Spanish into practice.
  • Traditional breakfast with “churros”. In this case, the student only pays for what they consume.
  • Tapas day to get to know our cuisine. This activity is free; the student only pays for what they consume.
  • Movie day (usually once a week). Students can watch films and documentaries in Spanish on our school’s interactive screens to learn about Spanish and Latin American culture.
  • World Literature Day celebration, language exchanges, etc.

– Activities that are not free, though they may be included in some courses:

  • Guided tours of Granada’s two most important neighborhoods: the Albaicín and the Sacromonte. Both were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1984.
  • Visit to the Alhambra and Generalife with a Spanish-speaking guide.
  • Visit to the Museum of the Inquisition.
  • Visit to the Parque de las Ciencias, museum, BioDomo and planetarium.
