Class plan and methodology
for specific purposes

Methodology of the Spanish classes

During classes, all language skills are worked on (listening and reading comprehension and spoken and written expression). In addition to grammar content, cultural and historical aspects of Spanish culture are also taught to achieve better language immersion in our country. Besides the classes, activities outside the classroom are carried out so that students can put their knowledge to the test in real situations.

Student assessment is carried out on an ongoing basis through various activities and tests. In addition, the teacher provides personal, private monitoring through our platform.

Spanish course syllabus

In line with the objectives set by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and with the aim of achieving learning of Spanish, the syllabus is based on achieving a communicative and immersive dynamic, adapting to the needs of our students.

Both printed teaching materials and other electronic resources are used.

The use of our platform and the interactive screens available in all our classrooms allow us to access new technologies in order to innovate in education, with a very enriching and positive impact on students.

Excursions and extracurricular activities

Since we believe that studying grammar is not the only important part of learning a language, at Academia Puerta Real we foster language learning and cultural immersion through special activities usually held outside the classroom.

– Free activities:

  • Competition-style challenges to discover the city and practice Spanish.
  • Traditional breakfast with “churros”. In this case, the student only has to pay for what they consume.
  • Tapas day to get to know our cuisine. This activity is free; the student only has to pay for what they consume.
  • Film day (usually once a week). Students can watch films and documentaries in Spanish on the interactive screens at our school in order to learn about Spanish and Latin American culture.
  • World Literature Day celebration, language exchanges, etc.

– Activities that are not free, although they may be included in some courses:

  • Guided tours of Granada’s two most important neighborhoods: the Albaicín and the Sacromonte. Both were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
  • Visit to the Alhambra and Generalife with a Spanish-speaking guide.
  • Visit to the Inquisition Museum.
  • Visit to the Parque de las Ciencias, museum, BioDomo and planetarium.
